WHAT'S INCLUDED

Only use monitor when baby is in a motionless bed/cot. Do not use in car seat, stroller, swing or other mobile carrier as motion negates the functionality of the monitor.
This product is a baby care aid, not a medical device. It is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention or monitoring of a disease, injury or handicap including SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
This product does not replace responsible adult supervision. Check on your child at regular intervals and ensure that the battery is full.

BUTTONS & FUNCTIONS

USING OMA+

A properly fitting diaper is essential for the proper function of your Oma+ Portable Movement Monitor. The thin flap of material at the top of the diaper must be folded over the thicker part before the diaper is closed (this is the section to which Oma+ will be attached). The diaper should fit snugly on the baby with the top of the diaper just below the belly button. A very 'full' or wet diaper may also cause it to gape.

It is essential that the Oma+ Movement Sensor is in constant contact with the baby's tummy, around the belly button area, although closer to the sides may suit different sleeping positions.

Movement from external sources such as being pushed in a stroller or travelling in a vehicle or aircraft may be detected by the Oma+ sensor. Oma+ should not be relied upon where external sources of movement are present.
NOTE: The World Health Organization (WHO), recommends that babies be placed to sleep on their back unless advised otherwise by a doctor.

STARTUP
Turn the unit ON, by briefly pressing the ON button. A startup-test will run which will turn on (in sequence) all indicator lights, vibration stimulator and audible alarm. The Battery Indicator Light will flash briefly as follows:

	Battery OK
	Battery nearing depletion	Replace battery
	Battery fully depleted	Oma+ will not monitor; Replace battery

Ensure that all lights, vibration and alarm are working properly and that the battery level is high enough for proper operation (i.e. green or orange light). Otherwise, DO NOT use the monitor. If the battery is too weak, the Battery Indicator
Light will flash red accompanied by a short beep every second. Please change the battery before further use (see "Replacing the Battery").

To turn the unit OFF, press both the ON button and the MODE button at the same time.

MONITORING
When monitoring your child, the Movement Indicator Light provides information about your baby's movements, while the Alarm Indicator Light alerts you to potential issues.
The Movement Indicator Light flashes with each movement:

	Normal movements
	Very small or weak movements (i.e. very small movents)
(Dual-tone beep every second)	Movement rate below 8 movements per minute.	If movement rate increases to over 8 movements per minute, the Movement Indicator Light will reset to and the warning will stop. To disable this function see "Movement-Rate Warning".
	At least one incident of no movement for 15 seconds, where movement was again detected after the vibration
(Beeps every 2 seconds)	The Rouse Warning indicates that there have been 3 vibration/rousing incidents. To disable this function see "Vibration Alert/Rouse Warning".	To disable this function see "Vibration Alert/Rouse Warning".

The Alarm Indicator Light signifies the following:

(())	Flashing Red with vibration	If no movement is detected for 15 seconds, Oma + gently vibrates in an attempt to rouse the baby & Alarm Indicator Light flashes red. If movement is detected again within 5 seconds, the Movement Indicator Light flashes red on each subsequent movement. This is an indication that there has been an incident of no movement for 15 seconds.
	Flashing Red and alarm sounds	If no movement is detected for an additional 5 seconds after the vibration stimulus (20 seconds in total), the Alarm Indicator Light flashes red and the full audible alarm sounds.

OMA+ AND CLOTHING

• Oma+ can be clipped onto the folded waistband of the diaper or the waistband of elasticated pants, as long as the Movement Sensor touches the baby in the tummy area.

		There may also be a thin layer of clothing (i.e. a diaper shirt) between the Sensor and the skin. Please ensure that the Sensor always maintains contact with the tummy area.
		The monitor can also be used if baby is dressed in light clothing (i.e. a sleeper) over the diaper. Too much clothing may reduce or muffle the alarm. Please ensure the alarm can be heard if baby is covered in clothing and/or blankets.

NOTE: To extend the distance at which the alarm can be heard, Levana recommends using Oma+ together with an Audio Baby Monitor or a Video Baby Monitor. Please consult our website at mylevana.com to view our complete line of Levana Baby Monitors.

SETTINGS

Audible Alert - Emits an audible 'tick' on each movement.

Press MODE button ONCE briefl y to toggle volume settings:
Volume settings

• Low
• Medium
• High
• OFF

Vibration Alert/Rouse Warning - During monitoring, if no movement is detected for 15 seconds, Oma+ vibrates gently in an attempt to rouse the baby.

• Vibrates if no movement detected for 15 seconds
• Light flashes RED if movement resumes within the next 5 seconds
• With Rouse Warning enabled, after 3 such vibration/rousing incidents, the light will start flashing RED every 2 seconds & beep every 2 seconds
• This alerts you to the fact that your baby has stopped all movement for 15 seconds on three occasions and has then resumed movement after Oma+ has vibrated.

NOTE: The Rouse Warning is automatically enabled each time Oma+ is switched ON. To disable this warning, ensure that OMA+ is switched ON, then press and hold the MODE button for at least 1 second until a tone is heard and the unit vibrates briefly. If you want to enable the warning again, switch Oma+ off completely (press both ON and MODE buttons simultaneously), then switch it ON again (the Vibration Alert is enabled by default when Oma+ is switched on).

Movement-Rate Warning - Alerts you if the baby moves less than 8 times per minute.

If the battery becomes depleted during monitoring, the Battery Indicator Light will flash as follows:

		Red flash on each movement	Battery nearing depletion; Replace battery
	(alarm sounds) (alarm sounds)	Battery fully depleted–Low Battery Alarm beeps every 2 seconds	Oma+ will not monitor; Replace battery

NOTE: If the battery is nearing depletion or depleted, change the battery before further use of the monitor (see "Replacing the Battery").

BATTERY

Battery Life

• The life of the replaceable battery depends entirely on usage.
• Battery life will vary significantly depending on the average daily duration of use and/or alarm duration and/or number of alarms.
• Turning unit on and off unnecessarily shortens the battery life.
• If the number of alarms is high, please check that diaper is properly fitted.
• The battery guarantee is 3 months from the date of purchase.

Replacing the Battery

• Use only a CR14250, 3.0V battery, which is available to purchase at www.mylevana.com.

1. Turn unit OFF by pressing the ON and MODE buttons at the same time.
2. Use your fingernail or a small, flat implement. With a pinching action, (Figure 1), gently pull back the Battery Cover Release Clip on the back of the monitor and lift the Battery Cover at the same time (Figure 2).
   
3. The Clip Guard prevents the clip from bending too far. Do not try to bend the clip beyond this point.
4. Remove the depleted battery.
5. Insert the new battery, negative end first (Figure 3), Ensure that the polarity is correct (align the positive end '+' of the battery with the '+' symbol in the battery housing). Replace the Battery Cover and ensure that it is correctly closed (Figure 4).
   

• Test the unit by switching ON and ensuring that the Battery Indicator Light flashes green.
• If the unit starts emitting a beep after the battery has been replaced, simply press the ON and MODE buttons simultaneously to turn it off. Power cycling may need to be attempted a few times.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

PRECAUTIONS

• Do not insert anything into the Sound Emission Hole.
• Do not allow any liquid to enter the Sound Emission Hole.
• Avoid bending the sensor unnecessarily (Figure 1).
  
• Do not use undue force to bend the clip (Figure 2).
  
• Do not pull the Battery Cover Release Clip beyond the Guard Rail.

Cleaning and Storage

• Gently wipe with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. A mild soap may be used for stubborn dirt.
• Do not use any other cleaning agents as they may contain damaging chemicals.
• The monitor is splash resistant, not waterproof. Do not immerse in water. If it gets wet, dry it off immediately.
• When changing the battery, dirt that is trapped between the battery replacement hatch and the case may be cleaned with a dry cotton ball once the Battery Cover has been removed. Be sure that the rubber seal is free of dirt before replacing the Battery Cover, as this could compromise the seal.
• When not in use, keep your Oma+ in its protective case. Do not store in a damp area.

Damage Requiring Service: This unit should be serviced by qualified personnel only when:

1. Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the product
2. The units have been exposed to rain
3. The units do not appear to operate normally or exhibits a distinct change in performance
4. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure is damaged
