The mechanical flat scale supports physicians in decision-making regarding diagnosis or therapy, based on the patient's weight or weight changes.
The device may only be used by persons with sufficient expertise.
The scale is intended for persons of any age who can stand independently on the scale and who do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of the scale.
No contraindications are known.
The mechanical flat scale supports physicians in decision-making regarding diagnosis or therapy, based on the measured weight.
By that, the mechanical flat scale only provides an indirect clinical benefit.
The physician must perform additional examinations for an accurate diagnosis.
With a mechanical dial scale weight is calculated via a load lever system.
Before weighing takes place, the zero point can be manually reset each time with the adjusting wheel.
Verified scales are supplied with a kg scale.
Non-verified scales are supplied with a kg, lbs, kg/lbs, or a kg/sts scale depending on the model.

NOTE
NOTE
If you wish to position the scale close to a wall, seca recommends using the transport lock (see section "Removing transport lock") as a wall spacer. This stops the weighing platform from touching the wall and the measuring result from being incorrect.
Faulty measurement as a result of devices being set up incorrectly
Soft floors, such as wooden boards, give under the patient's weight and falsify the measuring result. Incorrect ambient conditions or lack of alignment lead to measurement errors.
Personal injury/faulty measurement
To obtain meaningful measured values, you must check before every use that the pointer of the scale reads "0".
Patients can be injured if they fall
People with restricted mobility can fall when they try to step on or off the scale.
Risk of infection
NOTICE!
Damage to device
Unsuitable cleaning agents and disinfectants may damage the sensitive surfaces of the device and lead to transparent components becoming clouded.
Cleaning housing
Cleaning protecting ring and scale (seca 760/761/762)
You can take the protecting ring off the weighing platform to clean the inside of the protecting ring and the scale.
NOTICE!
Damage to device
When the protecting ring has been taken off, the pointer and scale of the device are freely accessible. If these parts are damaged, meaningful measuring results will not be possible.

A complete function check includes:
If you find faults or deviations during the function check, first try to remedy the fault with the aid of the "Troubleshooting" section in this document.
Personal injury
If you find faults or deviations during the function check which you are unable to remedy with the aid of the "Troubleshooting" section in this document, you must not use the device.
If faults occur when operating the device, first attempt to remedy them yourself using the following table. If the fault persists, contact seca Service or an authorized service partner.
Fault | Cause | Remedy |
Scale shows no weight although there was a load on it | The device is not ready for use | Remove transport lock |
The unit does not show a plausible weight value | Before weighing pointer does not read 0 | Adjust display |
Force shunt: scale is e.g. touching a wall, or patient is supporting his/her weight against the wall |

The product needs to be set up carefully and serviced regularly. Depending on how frequently the product is used, seca recommends servicing at intervals of 3 to 5 years.
Faulty measurements as a result of poor servicing
Faulty measurements as a result of verification being performed poorly or not at all
seca recommends having your device serviced prior to verification.
