Release the lock by turning
adjusting ring 1 in direction c
with the tool from the toolkit,
while holding adjusting ring 2
with the second tool from the
toolkit.
In order to ensure that the ref-
erence point for measurement
is correct, always centre the
measuring tape over screw 5
and read off the distance at
edge 6.
Make sure there is no load
on the rear wheel; remove all
items of luggage, if carried.
Measure distance d between
edge 6 of tail section as de-
scribed above, and top of axle
tube 7.
Apply the rider's weight to the
motorcycle.
With the assistance of a
second person, measure
distance d between points 6
and 7 again and calculate the
difference between the two
readings.
