Getting started
during Emergency Callback Mode, an emergency operator can
estimate your location. Refer to "Customizing your handheld
options" in the Handheld User Guide for more information.
Warning: This feature is reserved for emergency calls. Only recognized
emergency numbers (such as 911) are accepted when your handheld is
locked.
Depending on your service provider or network operator, some services
might function differently from what is described in this guide. Contact
your service provider or network operator for more information on
placing emergency calls.
To place emergency calls
1. Press the Phone button.
2. Click One Time Dial. The Enter Phone Number dialog box
appears.
3. Type a recognized emergency phone number and click Call.
Your handheld dials the emergency phone number and beeps four
times. When you end the emergency call, your handheld enters
Emergency Callback Mode.
To place emergency calls when your
handheld is locked
1. Click the trackwheel. A dialog box appears with the message
Handheld is locked.
2. Click Emergency Call. A dialog box prompts you to confirm
that you want to place the emergency call.
3. Click Yes.
4. Type a recognized emergency phone number and click the
trackwheel.
