  • Page 6 TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: 5/32” ALLEN WRENCH STEP | 02 SURF POLE ASSEMBLY 2.1 Install Bayonets to Bottom Weldment: Find the Bottom Weldment and insert Bayonets as shown in FIG 2. Secure using (4) 1/4-20 x 0.75 Flanged Button Head Hex Drive Screws and Loctite.
  • Page 7 TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: STEP | 03 SURF POLE INSTALL 3.1 Position Sandwich Plate: Take the Sandwich Plate and position it by sliding it between the support arm and dimpled top plate of your side steps (FIG 6). Make sure it is in the orientation as shown in FIG 7 that has the raised flanges facing upward.

  • Page 9 9/16” SOCKET OR WRENCH TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: STEP | 03 SURF POLE INSTALL STEP BRACKET 3.3 Attach Mounting Bracket: Loosely attach the Step Bracket to the Sandwich Plate using (2) 3/8-16 x 0.75 Flanged Hex Head Screws and the Horizontal Mounting Slots as shown in (FIG 10-11).
  • Page 10 Washers and Nylon Locknuts. 3.5 Align Pole to Secondary Mounting Point: Whether you are using an FVC Side Ladder (FIG 14) or a secondary Surf Pole (FIG 15), measure to ensure that the distance between mounting points is square from the top to the bottom.
  • Page 11 4.2a Drill Holes: Remove the Surf Pole from the Hangar Bracket and drill out the holes using a 25/64” Drill Bit (FIG 17). NOTE - FVC Low Pro Roof Rails are made from aluminum and therefore won’t rust. If you have a Roof Rack solution of a different material that will rust, be sure to paint these drill holes using a rust preventative paint.

  • Page 13 TOOLS REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP: 9/16” WRENCH OR SOCKET 7/32” ALLEN WRENCH STEP | 05 SURF POLE INSTALL 5.3 Reattach to Hangar Bracket: Loosly reattach your Surf Pole to the installed Mounting Bracket as shown (FIG 20) using the provided 3/8-16” Carriage Bolts, Flat Washers and Nylon Locknuts.
