9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug
has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a
third grounding prong. The wide blade and the third prong are provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not fit into your outlet consult an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete outlet.

10.Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11.Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified
by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is
used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination
to avoid injury from tip-over.

13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for a long period of time.

14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way. Such as when the power supply cord or plug is

apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture and does not operate normally or has
been dropped.

This equipment has been tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class A digital
device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful
interference when the equipment is operated in
a commercial environment. This equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio
frequency energy and if not installed and used
in accordance with the instruction manual, may
cause harmful interference to radio
communications. Operation of this equipment
in a residential area may cause harmful
interference in which case the user will be
required to correct the interference at his own
expense.
INSTALLATION
Mounting
The VE1225S is designed for rack mounting (1U).
Rack: Secure Mounting brackets to the VE1225S.
Place the VE1225S into a standard 19" rack and
secure to rack with proper hardware (included).

Power Connections
Make sure all signal connections via the back
panel are made and the VE1225S is connected to
the Ethernet switch, then connect the power cord
to the AC power source.
Front Panel Connections (Fig. 2)
Network Connection
The VE1225S has an RJ45 Ethernet network
connection on the front panel.
The Ethernet connector has two LEDs to indicate
link speed and activity. Activity is indicated by the
LED flashing. Color indicates link speed as
follows:

Amber LED (right) indicates 1000 Mbit speed

Green LED (left) indicates 100 Mbit speed

Both LEDs lit indicates 10 Mbit speed
Status LED
The Status LED on the front panel indicates the
general status of the VE1225S.
Green: Status is normal.
Amber: Indicates a wiring fault was detected but
has been resolved.
Red: Indicates there is a fault currently being
detected.
SPEAKER CABLING
The primary cause of troubles in retrofit systems is
directly related to the existing field wiring.
It is imperative that existing speaker and call switch
wiring (field wiring) be assessed before making
connections to new equipment. Guidelines for
doing so may be found in our Best Practices and
General Troubleshooting Procedures.
