The instrument measures the intensity of the reflected light caused by the open end of the master cord connected to the AQ7420 by measuring the return loss of the light signal output from the AQ7420’s built-in light source. This measurement serves as a reference for the distance measurement of the target device to be measured later and is a reference measurement with the open end of the master cord as the starting point (0 mm).
