GENERAL INFORMATION These are the mounting instructions for the Novy unit device on the cover. Carefully read the safety instructions, mounting instructions and user manual before installation and putting it into operation. The safety instructions are listed in a separate booklet supplied with the appliance and listed on our website www.novy.com.

INSTALLATIONS Installation regulations The distance between the cooking plate and the wall must be min. 55 mm. − The cooking plate belongs to protection class « Y ». When built in, there may be a high cabinet side or a wall on one side and at the rear.

RECIRCULATION INSTALLATION With recirculation, a return opening of at least 550 cm² must be provided in the kitchen furniture in order to blow the cleaned air into the kitchen. The return opening can be made by making a cut-out in the plinth or by fitting a grille. For optimum performance of the hood it is important to pay attention to the items mentioned below.

CONTENT PACKAGE Follow the steps below for the assembly of the appliance and use the the installation drawings in these instruction. Remove the cardboard box from the packaging. This box contains all supplies for mounting the control knobs. Then remove the appliance from the packaging at the location of the 4 recesses in the packaging to avoid damage to the glass or the appliance.

The front panel of the kitchen cabinet must be removable to mount the control knobs! Dismantle the front panel of the kitchen cabinet if this is not already the case. Align the drilling template (A) on the front of the front panel, fix with tape (*) and drill the holes (Ø5mm + Ø35mm).

Push the two positioning guides (C ) from the front of the front panel through the 1st and 5th openings. Dismantle the knob set by loosening the nuts (G). Put all parts aside. You will need them later. – 11 –...

model 1 model 2 Position the fixation panel (B) on the back of the front panel using the positioning guides (C). Note : align text ‘Unten’ to bottom side of front panel. Fix with the screws (8 x D). Place the spacer rings (F).

Place the panel (E) on the fixation panel (B) and make sure the pins of the outer rotary control knob fall into the positioning guides (C ). Note: align text ‘Unten’ to bottom side of front panel. Fix with both nuts (G). Remove the two positioning guides (C ).

Positioning rotary control knob Check that the neutral movement is in the rotary knob (long line in drawing) on the top left. If incorrectly mounted, the rotary control knob will not respond to the desired actions. Place the rotary knob (I) over the pin and DO NOT twist the knob! Note for correct positioning : both pin and rotary knob have a flat side (see detailed drawing).

Fix the rotary knob on the pin with the set screw (H); DO NOT twist the knob! The set screw must be tightened against the pin! Check that the rotary knob is completely fixed on the pin by turning the knob. The rotary knob should not be able to rotate 360°.

CLICK ! CLICK ! Grease the O-rings (K) with a silicone-based lubricant or soap to ease the fitting of the decorative cover (L). Carefully insert the O-ring (K) into the groove of the rotary control knob. Place the decorative cover (L) on the rotary control knob, making sure the indentation (off position) faces upwards.

1861045 Connection with adapter to the back panel If the connection is to be made directly to the back panel of the furniture, first slide the supplied adapter onto the unit and then fix it with adhesive tape for airtight connections. Then push the adapter completely closed.

OPTIONAL Connection with ductwork Optionally, the ductwork or recirculation kit 1861820 can be can be connected to the outlet of the unit with discharge into the plinth. Use tape for airtight connections. Place the unit in the opening provided. Firmly hold the cooking plate on the left and the right sides.

SET SOFTWARE TO RECIRCULATION OR EXTRACTION MODE On delivery, the default programme setting is recirculation mode. When used in the recirculation mode, the following operation is not required. If the appliance was set to extraction mode when taken into use, it can be returned to recirculation mode as follows.
