  • Page 9 Glossary Term Definition Activity zone The remote keypad located near the Ergo bar. This feature allows quick and easy access to the functions provided on the main console. Connector A device used to join wiring to complete an electrical circuit. Cable ties A plastic straps used to secure wiring.
  • Page 10 Theory of Operation All electrical functions of the model F3 folding treadmill are controlled through the console. Console The console provides the primary interface for the user. The consoles have keys by which the user can select various exercise programs and resistance settings (levels). The display shows speed, heart rate, resistance level and other information.

  • Page 12 Preventative Maintenance IMPORTANT: Unless noted otherwise, turn the treadmill off and unplug prior to performing any maintenance Inspect the power cord. If the cord is damaged call Weekly technical support. Make sure the cord is positioned in a location where it will not be damaged. Check the operation of the Emergency Stop System by pulling the lanyard key while the treadmill belt moves in a workout.

  • Page 22 7. Carefully lift up the front of the upper bridge cover so that you can see the center screw holding the bridge weldment to the horizontal bar. (See Figure 5). NOTE: Be careful not to lift the upper bridge cover to high or else damage may occur to electric cables inside the assembly.
  • Page 23 WARNING: The gas shocks must be removed before removing the deck. Without the weight of the deck, the gas shocks will spring up and can result in serious injury. 9. Fold up the treadmill. Ensure the treadmill is locked up in the folded position.

This indicates that the low voltage transformer is working and implies that the “hot side” control electronics are active.
