CHECK
To check the brake fluid level, proceed as
follows:
NOTE
Position the vehicle on firm and
flat ground.
Position the vehicle on the center stand.
u
Remove turn indicator
u
protections.
Rotate the handlebar so that the fluid
u
contained in the brake reservoir is
parallel to the "MIN" mark stamped on
the glass gauge (1).
Make sure that the fluid contained in the
u
reservoir exceeds the "MIN" mark
stamped on the glass gauge (1).
MIN = minimum level.

If the fluid is below the "MIN" mark:
Brake fluid level decreases as the brake
pads wear down.
Check the brake pads for wear, see
u
page 58 (CHECKING THE BRAKE
PADS FOR WEAR) and brake disk.
If the pads and/or the disk do not need
replacing:
Contact an aprilia Authorized Dealer,
u
who will provide for topping up.
Check the brake for proper operation.
When the brake lever has exceeded
travel or if you notice a loss of braking,

Dealer.The braking system may need
bleeding.

COOLANT

Do not ride when coolant is below the
minimum level MIN.
Periodically check the coolant level and
every time after long trips; have the coolant
changed by an aprilia Authorized Dealer
every 2 years.
Coolant is poisonous! Do not ingest
c o o l a n t u n d e r a n y c i r c u m s t a n c e .
Should you get coolant in your mouth,
rinse with cool water and immediately
seek medical attention. Coolant is also
very dangerous to your skin and eyes.
Should you accidentally get coolant on
your clothing or skin, change clothes
immediately. Wash coolant from your
skin with soap and hot water.
Should you get coolant in your eyes,
flush with plenty of cool water and seek
professional medical help at once.
Should someone swallow coolant
accidentally, induce vomiting, rinse
mouth with water and immediately seek
professional medical attention.
