After A Period Of Inactivity - APRILIA HABANA 125 - PART3 Manual

After a long period of inactivity of the vehi-
cle some precautions are necessary to
avoid any problem.
Further, it is important to carry out the nec-
essary repairs and a general check up be-
fore the period of inactivity, since you could
forget to carry them out later.
Proceed as follows:
N
Empty the fuel tank and the carburettor,
see p. 7 7 (D R A IN I N G T H E FU E L
TANK).
N
Extract the spark plug, see p. 60
(SPARK PLUG) and pour a teaspoon (5-
10 cm
) of two-stroke engine oil into the

cylinder,
NOTE
Put a clean cloth on the cylinder,
near the spark plug seat, in order to protect
it from oil sprays.
N
Move the ignition switch to position "
press the start push button "
seconds, to distribute the oil evenly on
the cylinder surfaces.
N
Remove the cloth.
N
Put back the spark plug.
N
Remove the battery, see p. 63 (REMOV-
ING THE BATTERY

Wash and dry the vehicle, see p. 78
(CLEANING).

Polish the painted surfaces with wax.
N
Inflate the tyres, see p. 30 (TYRES).

By means of a suitable support, position
the vehicle so that both tyres are raised
from the ground.

Place the vehicle in an unheated, not-hu-

mid room, away from sunlight, with mini-

mum temperature variations.

Position and tie a plastic bag on the final
pipe of the exhaust silencer, in order to
prevent moisture from getting into it.

Cover the vehicle avoiding the use of
plastic or waterproof materials.

Uncover and clean the vehicle, see p. 78

Check the charge of the battery, see p.

Make sure that the fuel drain screw is
thoroughly screwed (breather pipe clos-
