1.2 Test Descriptions
The 28000-5-TEST test system provides three levels of tests:
• Pretest Verify and Diagnostics
• Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT):
• BIF Controller Card FAT Tests
• Card FAT Tests
• Go/No-Go Tests
1.2.1 Pretest Verify and Diagnostics
The comprehensive Pretest Verify and Diagnostics routine confirms that test system compo-
nents are functional. This routine is typically run before FAT and Go/No-Go tests. It can also
be run independently prior to other tests.
The following components are verified:
• Equipment verification—all connected 28000 systems are responding and the test equip-
ment is connected properly
• Verification of test circuits on the 28000-BIF1-FT controller card
• Verification of the 28000 system test bus and monitor bus
• Verification that the waveform generator and the digital multimeter are responding and
pass their self-tests
