Reference Cables
Reference cables are used by 28000 cards that support channel composite match FAT testing.
The 28000-M3 and the 28000-M5 chassis, and also the 28316C card, require different ref-
erence cables. See Table 1 for assistance in selecting the correct reference cable for your test
setup.
Reference cables are not required for 28524, 28608B, 28612, 28618, or 28708 cards.
• CB-REF-C Cable
Supports the FAT composite match tests on all cards installed in M3 chassis, except 28314
and 28316C cards.
• CB-HD26P-REF-C
Test cable for performing FAT composite match tests on all 4-channel and 8-channel cards
in M5 chassis.
• CB-28316C-DC37P-REF-C
Supports FAT frequency composite match tests on 28316C cards in M3 or M5 chassis.
• CB-28316C-REF-C
Supports FAT frequency composite match tests on 28316C cards in M5 chassis.
Test Adapters and Cables
Each 28000 card has a unique set of FAT tests. Some tests, such as IEPE tests, use special test
adapters. See Table 1 for assistance in selecting the correct test adapter and cable for the card
you are testing.
The following is a list of test adapters and cables, with brief a description of each adapter's
function:
• 28000-TEDS-ADAPTER-A
Supports FAT tests of the LDTEDS function on 28304, 28314, and 28324 cards. This dual-
channel adapter incorporates TEDS memory and a load capacitor and is used to emulate
cards' Long Distance TEDS (LDTEDS) capability.
• 28108-TEST-ADAPTER
Supports FAT test of the excitation supply on 28108 and 28118 cards. The adapter is used to
test excitation sense, current limit, and linearity under load.
• 28144-TEST-ADAPTER
Test adapter for testing bridge completion, shunt cal, excitation sense, current limit, and
linearity under load on 28114, 28144, and 28124 cards.
• CB-28144-TEST
Test cable for calibration of 28144-TEST-ADAPTER.
