1.3 Test System Hardware
28000-5-TEST System
The Precision 28000-5-TEST test system consists of a high-performance digital multimeter,
a waveform generator, a cable set, and rack mount adapters for the devices. The 28000 GUI
software controls the function of both the digital multimeter and the waveform generator via
an Ethernet interface.
A Keysight 33509B waveform generator is used as the source of test signals in the 28000-5-
TEST test system. See Figure 2.

A Keysight 34465A digital multimeter, shown in Figure 3, provides the measuring device in
the 28000 test system.

The 28000 test system cable set connects the test devices to the test and monitor busses on the
28000 system.
• Test Signal Cable CB-BNC-24
The test signal cable is a coaxial BNC cable, 24 inches long, that connects the Keysight
33509B waveform generator and the 28000 system front-panel Test Bus connector.
• Monitor Cable CB-DE9P/BAN-MONBUS-4
The monitor cable is a 9-pin D-shell to banana plug cable (with a twisted shielded pair
cable), 48 inches long, that connects the Keysight 34465A multimeter and one of the 28000
system System Monitor connectors.
