Reference Cable Setup: M5 Mainframes
The 28000-M5 mainframes, with the exception of the 28316C card, uses the CB-HD26P-
REF-C reference cable. The cable consists of a 26-pin high-density connector and a 9-pin D
connector. The 26-pin high-density connector connects to the rear chassis output connector
of the reference card. The output connectors are J300 through J315 on the 28016-M5, J400
through J407 on the 28008-M3/M5, and J400 through J403 on the 28004-M3/M5. The 9-pin D
connector connects to the System Input connector J500. The reference channel is channel 0 of
the card that the reference cable is installed.
Reference Cable Setup: 28316C Card
There are two cable that are used with the 28316C card composite FAT test:
The CB-28316C-DC-37P-REF-C reference cable is used with the 28316C card installed in ei-
ther an M3 or M5 type chassis. The cable consists a 37-pin connector and a 9-pin D connector.
The 37-pin connector connects to the output connector on the front of the card and the 9-pin
D connector connects to System Input connector J500 on the rear of the chassis. The reference
channel is channel 0 of the card where the reference cable is installed.
The CB-28316C-REF-C reference cable is used with the 28316C card installed in an M5 type
chassis. The cable consists a 26-pin high-density connector and a 9-pin D connector. The 26-
pin high-density connector connects to the rear output connector of the reference card. The
output connects are J300 through J315 on the 28016-M5, J400 through J407 on the 28008-M3/
M5, and J400 through J4037 on the 28004-M3/M5. The 9-pin D connector connects to the
System Input connector J500. The reference channel is channel 0 of the card that the reference
cable is installed.
