8. Specify the device name for each new external device.
1. Click the new external device you added, and then click Show Info.
2. Enter the name in the Device Name field.

* Enter the UNIT number of the UM-3EX as the first
number "1:."
9. Use the mouse to drag the ▼ and ▲ symbols that indicate the inputs and outputs of the 1: UM-3 icon
and the new external device icons so that they are connected as follows.

10. If running Mac OS X v10.2:
Close the Audio MIDI Setup dialog box. The settings are completed.
If running Mac OS X v10.3 or later:
Confirm that MIDI is being transmitted and received correctly. Perform Steps 11–14 (p. 29).
