How will you control the unit

Mighty Mule Gate Openers offer multiple ways to open and close your Gate Opener. Our new line of select Smart capable Gate Openers offer the ability to control and monitor your gate from anywhere with the Mighty Mule app and the Wireless Connectivity System (part # MMS100 sold separately).
If you prefer to not add the Wireless Connectivity System the gate can be opened or closed with the included entry/exit remote (part # MMT103), For guest who entering your property may not have a entry/exit remote, a Mighty Mule Digital Keypad (part # MMK200) can be added to any Gate Opener.

How will you charge the battery

TRANSFORMER or SOLAR POWER?
All Mighty Mule Gate Openers are low voltage systems, powered by a 12 Volt battery back-up system. The battery can be charged and maintained with the included transformer or with optional part # FM123, 10 Watt Solar Panel Kit. If your gate is more than 1000 ft. from an AC power source you must use solar power to charge the battery. See the Cycles Per Day chart below to determine the number of Solar Power Kits needed for your application:

DUAL GATE OPENERS REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 10 WATTS
Up to 30 watts of solar panel power can be added to any Mighty Mule Gate Opener system.

Important installation considerations

A 12 Volt Automotive or Deep Cycle Marine battery that produces a minimum of 250 cold cranking amps and battery box is required for operation of gate opener model #'s MM271,MM272, MM371W, MM372W & TS571W. A Mighty Mule 12 volt 7 amp hour battery is included with the gate opener models MM571W & MM572W.
Low Voltage Wire (part # RB509-100 or equivalent wire) is required for connecting the AC powered transformer to the control board. This 16 gauge, UV resistant, dual conductor, direct burial wire is also required for some accessories such as the 10 Watt Solar Panel & wired Push Button Control (part # FM132).
If your gate opens away from your property due to a sloping driveway, then the Push To Open Bracket (part # FM148) is required for proper operation. Dual gate openers require two Push To Open Brackets. Note: the MM271 & MM272 and not designed for Push To Open applications.

The Installation

Most installations can be completed easily in two to three hours. Each system includes online installation videos and easy-to-read instructions. The Mighty Mule Openers are designed to be installed on new or existing driveway gates.

YOUR GATE MUST BE:

Firmly hung on a well-seated fence post
Swing freely and evenly
Level and plumb, with no gate wheels

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Ball Bearing hinges for gate over 250 lbs.
Gate posts thicker than 8" will require longer bolts (should be 2" longer than post thickness)
Gate posts less than 4"will require large metal washers or steel plates for reinforcing both sides of gate post.
Masonry columns require special procedures (call 800-543-1236 for details)
Thin walled or panel gates may need reinforcement
