However, the high-performance components are not designed for unlimited service life as they are heavily utilized up to the permanent load and therefore subject to wear.

  • Page 18 Mounting Instructions 4.1.3 Measuring Hub Mounting Location The coordinate system of the measuring hub is designed so that, with horizontal drum axle and with the test instru- ment at the top, it conforms to the ISO system of coordi- nates applicable to the wheel force (Fig. 2). The measuring hub is provided with oil lubrication or grease lubrication and must therefore only be used in the position with its Fz axis upwards.

The interface between the rotating shaft and the measuring hub is provided by means of two bearings. Bearings are parts subject to wear and therefore their service life largely depends on the loading and lubrication of the bearings.

    Operation 6.2 Friction Torque M The friction of the RoaDyn P530 measurement hub is made up of the bearing friction and the friction of the seals and is also dependent on the lubricant used. The friction torque was determined by performing measurements on two different oil-lubricated measure- ment hubs.
