HDTV Link (HDMI)

What is HDTV Link (HDMI)?
HDTV Link is a function that automatically links this camera to HDTV Link-
compatible devices by connecting HDMI mini cables (optional) for enabling easy
operation with the television's remote control. (Some operations are not available.)
This camera supports the latest HDTV Link (HDMI) Version. (As of December 2009)
HDTV Link (HDMI) is a function added to the industry-standard HDMI control
functions known as HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control). Operation is
possible only with HDMI CEC-compatible devices. Refer to your product manual to
verify compatibility with HDTV Link (HDMI).
Preparation: • Set [HDTV Link] to [ON]. (→25)
Connect the camera to a compatible TV with the Leica HDMI
mini cable (→8).
Turn on camera

Do not use any other cables except the Leica HDMI mini cable (→8).
Cables that do not comply with HDMI standards will not work.
If you are unsure whether or not the TV you are using is compatible with HDTV Link,
read the operating instructions for the TV.
If the [HDTV Link] setting on the camera is [ON], operations via the camera buttons will
be limited.
Ensure that the television you are connecting to has been set up to enable HDTV Link
(HDMI) (consult your television operating instructions for details).
If you do not wish to use HDTV Link (HDMI), turn the camera's [HDTV Link] setting
[OFF].
When operating with HDTV Link, the [HDMI MODE] (→25) of the camera is selected
automatically.
