Remove and install the
Back cover panel
Behind the cover panel at the back of the UltiMaker Factor 4, you will find the electronics, power supply, Material
Station, and decouplers. During normal operation, the back cover panel must always be installed. However, for
certain repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting processes, the back cover panel must be removed in order to
access certain components.
Removing the back panel is simple, but take caution and follow the instructions when doing so to prevent a risk
of injury and/or damage to the machine.

the back panel is removed, do not touch the power supply or make any changes to the electronics.
•
Ordinary persons may remove the back panel for simple maintenance actions, but only when the printer
is turned off and the power cable is disconnected. If the power must stay on, only instructed and skilled
persons are allowed to remove the back panel.
•
Sensitive electronic components are located behind the back panel. When handling the electronics, take ESD
precautions as described in the relevant instruction manual.
•
A clearance of 650 mm at the back of the printer is required. If the printer is placed close to a wall, the printer
must be rotated on the installation surface to reach the back panel. The printer must always be moved by at
