Elite Screens Enters Universal Remote Market

New ZR800D remote can control motorized screens... as well as everything else A/V.
Posted by Daniel Tonks on November 12, 2007 at 8:05 AM
You'd think that the brand name "Elite Screens" would tell you everything there is to know about the company in
question, namely that they make projection screens... but they're far more versatile than that and delve into other
fields such as home theater seating, speakers and accessories for all of the above.
While comfortable in your new chairs, that nifty motorized screen would naturally benefit from the convenience of
a remote control - and Elite Screens figured that if you're going to commission a custom remote, then it may as
well be a full fledged universal model instead of a lackluster single-device units that are more typical.
The new ZR800D is an 8-device remote that, in addition to controlling Elite Screens' own products, can also oper-
ate almost everything else in a home theater system thanks to a built-in database with 500 preprogrammed device
codes, full infrared learning, plus macro capabilities. On the hardware side the remote sports a small LCD screen
for the current mode and time, plus an impressive count of 53 hard buttons.
The price wasn't included with the press release materials; however it would appear to retail for approximately $99
USD (and is included with Prime Vision model screens).
