I was contacted by them a short bit ago and asked if I would take a look at a couple of their screens. "Sure", I replied. This is the first of the two I will be looking at (the other is their Cinetension Electric).

For testing I requested the HC White (1.2 gain) as my room doesn't typically need a gray screen. The fabric is a very smooth one with little texture.     The other was their first motorized screen, the Home Series. Here's the big thing about Elite Screens: Elite is probably best described as the "low cost leader". They haven't necessar- ily had many major categories of screens on the market long enough to establish themselves as the equal to established brands such as Da-Lite or Drape.

Elite primarily sells through dealers, so MSRP isn't going to help you much. Let's just say that discounting out there is significant, and 20% off would not be shocking. While I don't have a really excellent scientific method of determining it, my basic measurements indicate that it is close to claim. I previously measured Carada's Brilliant White projector screen surface as being approximately 1.3 (they claim 1.4).

The CineTension projector screens have 16 inches of drop when fully extended. This is a good amount, making it easier to ceiling mount and still have the surface fabric hang down low where you want it.
  • Page 107 16" of drop, above the screen surface, it will work in most rooms. If there is one downside to Elite screens, it is that, to my knowledge, they are not customizable. That means, if you really need 22 inches of drop, you are out of luck, or if you need exactly a 112" screen, and not one of the many precut sizes, also, no way to special order.
