4.1

Commissioning the HMI device

If you operate the HMI device exclusively as monitor and do not change the brightness, you
do not need to commission the device. To use extended functions, perform the following
commissioning.
Requirement
• The HMI device is mounted according to the documentation
• The HMI device is connected according to the documentation and is connected to a PC for
commissioning.
Procedure
1. Switch on the PC.
2. Switch on the power supply of the HMI device.
3. Download the SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools software from the Internet
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109792891).
4. Run "start.exe".

Extended functions

If you have installed the SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools software, then the following
functions are available, for example:
• Advanced brightness control - "SetBrightness"
• "IPCScreenSaver", specially designed for touch devices
• Convenient functions for clone operation including interlock mechanism
• Functions for switching from multi-touch to single-touch mode and vice versa
