    2 • General information Intended use The VIRON 1 - endoscopy camera is intended to produce video images in the medical endoscopic operation procedures. The camera accepts all standard C-mount lenses and outputs HD video signals which can connect to a HD video monitor or a HD video capture frame grabber of a computer- based imaging system.

    Disconnect and connect after powering off. Power on after confirming properly connected the camera head. IMPORTANT! This camera head must be connected only to the VIRON 1 camera controller. Do not combine this camera head with other camera controller. IMPORTANT!

    4 • Setup Connecting the camera head to the camera controller A protection cap has been put on the camera plug for the factory setting. The following figure shows how to unplug the protection cap. Hold the protection cap with one hand and use the other hand to hold the middle of the camera plug and pull it directly from the protection cap.

    When the endoscope is connected, normally a light source for illumination will be needed. This coupler must be connected only to the Erbe Vision camera head. Do not combine this coupler with other camera head. NOTE! When operating the camera, turn around the camera head so the control buttons are on top (indicated as in the following Figure 4-2) to avoid a tilted image.

    5 • Checks Chapter 5 Checks IMPORTANT! Run through the checks before and after each use. Do not use the products if they are damaged, incomplete or have loose parts or accessories. Before every use of camera head, check through the camera completely to ensure there are no unintended rough surfaces, sharp edges or protrusions on the camera head.

    6 • Use Chapter 6 WARNING! During operation of the camera, do NOT touch the patient and any signal connector of the camera, such as video output connectors. WARNING! Before each use or after a change of viewing modes / settings, the user must check to ensure the view observed through the camera provides a live image (rather than a stored one) and has the correct image orientation.

    6 • Use Camera Head Control WARNING! Orientation or movement related functions, such as FREEZE, MIRROR, FLIP, ROTATION may increase risk by intentionally or unintentionally use. Extra attention must be paid if these functions are assigned on the camera head buttons. Always view the on-screen display information to make sure the correct image is achieved.

Only the user who has the technical background is recommended to do the parameter adjustment. When the power turns on, the normal screen shows only the live image without OSD menu.
