    INTRODUCTION General The SoftCaire Delux Bariatric system is specially designed to provide both comfort and therapy for people who suffer from overweight and medically obese. Patients at high risks of pressure ulcer are recommended to use SoftCaire Delux Bariatric system. This system is made with the highest quality material, which is durable and reliable for acute care, hospital, including ICU environment, nursing home and home care.

    SYSTEM INSTALLATION First time set up instructions: a) Remove covers, sheets, and mattress from the bed. On a standard bed, position Mattress on top of bed, printed top cover facing upwards and air hoses towards the base of the bed. Attach to the bed by securing the adjustable straps under each end of your bed.

    Pump Unit Activation a) Position Control Unit by hanging hooks over foot board of the bed or place unit on the floor under the bed. b) Attach the air hoses using the quick connector to the Control Unit. Ensure air hoses do not kink between mattress, bed frame and Pump Unit.

    Please read and understand the instructions before use. Warning: Only use the Rhythm Healthcare pump with the Mattress System. It is dangerous to use a pump with pressure capacity greater than 120 mmHg. Using another pump with the Mattress System will void the warranty.

    NOTE: Please follow instructions below for detailed operating procedure of each type. 1. Power On. An audible beep will begin the operation. 2. The pump will enter static mode. The mattress will inflate to 10-15mmHg, then the unit will enter alternate mode. If 10-15mmHg isn’t reached within 30 minutes, the unit will stay in static mode and keep inflating.

    CLEANING It is recommended to clean the mattress system once a week. Pump Unit Before cleaning, check for external damage. If no damage, move the pump to the cleaning area. DO NOT immerse or soak the pump in water or liquids. With a soft cloth, wipe the outside of the case with quaternary ammonium solution.

    HANDLING AND STORAGE Spread mattress out flat and place upside down. Roll from the foot end towards the head end; the foot-end strap can then be stretched around the rolled mattress to prevent unrolling. Do not fold, crease, or stack the mattress. MAINTENANCE General Check the power cord for abrasions or excessive wear.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Solution Pump not working 1. Check that plug is inserted firmly into the outlet. 2. Switch on power. If power light LED is on and the pump is still not working, contact your authorized dealer immediately. If power light LED is off, the outlet may be faulty. Connect another electrical product to the outlet to check if the outlet is working.
