Bridge Configuration

The DSL-1500 supports RFC 1483 sometimes called Bridged Ethernet. In bridge mode operation the device
does not have the same capabilities as it does when operating in router mode. Packet forwarding for a bridge is
limited to Layer 2, i.e. MAC address information only. A bridge operation may be appropriate when it is
necessary to bridge the WAN and LAN interface in order to support non-IP based protocols. Bridge mode may
also be best suited for LAN-to-LAN operations.
Bridge with RFC 1483 Router/Bridge Configuration menu
If you change the Connection Profile to Bridge with RFC 1483 or Router with RFC 1483 the user changeable
parameters will be on the Connection Profile and the Encapsulation Method.
