Contents FoReWoRD We would like to thank you for purchasing a high efficiency Firebird condensing liquid fuel boiler with an Elco low NOx burner. This instruction manual is produced for the reference and guidance of qualified installation engineers, preferably OFTEC (Oil Firing Technical Association) registered. 2.1 stanDaRDs & Regulations - ConDensate Disposal Firebird condensing boilers, when in condensing mode, extract more heat from the flue products and the resulting condensate which is mildly acidic, needs to be drained from the boiler via a condensate pipe to the drainage system. provision must be made for the removal of condensate from the boiler to an internal soil stack, waste pipe, external soil stack, gully or soak-away, as per Bs 6798: 2014.
