SAFETY:
Cau�on: These probes are not for use with highly acidic, alkaline, or salty foods such as
citrus or tomato-based foods. Do not bring into contact with these types of foods for
extended periods of �me. The probe should only be immersed or penetrated into food up
to ½" / 13mm of the yellow plas�c connector. The plas�c connector is permited to come
into contact with food for a short period but is not designed for long term contact with food.
Cau�on: Do not touch a hot metal probe with bare hands.
Only the metal por�on of the probe can withstand temperature up to 500 F (232 C) not the
en�re instrument. The metal probe should not touch direct hea�ng elements such as flames
or grill surfaces.
To avoid burning fingers, it may be helpful to remove the food from the heat source (if
cooking on a grill or in a frying pan) a�er placing the item on a clean spatula or plate.
Cau�on: Avoid Physical injury. The probe �p is sharp. Use care when handling to prevent
injury, including accidental skin puncture. Ensure probe is safely stored when not in use.
Do not use the probe as an ice pick.

  • Page 3 How to use an inser�on thermocouple probe for food temperature Place the probe 1/8" / 3mm or deeper in the food as needed and for at least one second for liquids and up to (7) seconds for solids. The probe should only be immersed or penetrated in the food up to ½” / 13mm of the yellow plas�c connector. The plas�c connector is permited to come into contact with food for a short period but is not designed for long term contact with food.
