  • Page 32 STα-30 · STα-35, WSM G GENERAL Checking Fan Belt Tension CAUTION • Be sure to stop engine before checking belt tension. 1. Stop the engine and remove the key. 2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt between pulleys. 3. If tension is incorrect, loosen the alternator mounting bolts and using a lever placed between the alternator and the engine block, pull the alternator out until the deflection of the belt falls within acceptable limits.

Slowly raise the parking brake lever (1) to the ratchet sound made by the parking brake lever. 2. If the No. of notch is not within the factory specifications, loosen the lock nut (2) and turn the brake rod LH (3) and RH (4) to adjust within acceptable limits.
