The CPL Filter, also known as the Circular Polarizer filter, is an optional accessory used in photography and videography. When attached to a dash cam, it is designed to reduce glare from your car's dashboard, sunlight, and headlight reflections.

USER MANUAL INSTALLATION STEP 1: POWER OFF DASH CAM Before installing the CPL filter, power off and unplug your dash cam to avoid accidental damage. STEP 2: CLEAN THE DASH CAM LENS Use the microfiber cleaning cloth (included in the box) to remove any dust or smudges from the lens. - Page 7 R2-4K & R2-4K PRO STEP 3: REMOVE THE LENS COVER Carefully remove the plastic lens cover from the CPL filter. Avoid touching the inside or outside of the CPL lens to prevent smudging or adding finger grease, which can blur your videos. Remove the plastic lens cover.
- Page 8 USER MANUAL STEP 4: HOLD THE STEADY BACK SIDE Hold the CPL filter between your thumb and index finger, securing back side - the side with the threaded ring. This part should remain steady and is designed to screw onto the pre-threaded lens. NOTE Only the front side...
- Page 9 R2-4K & R2-4K PRO STEP 5: ALIGN THE THREADED RING AND START SCREWING ON Gently align the threaded ring of the CPL filter with the pre-threaded lens of the dash cam. While securely holding the back side of the filter, start screwing the CPL filter onto the lens in a clockwise direction until it is firmly attached.
- Page 10 USER MANUAL STEP 6: POWER ON DASH CAM Once the CPL filter is securely attached, power on your dash cam. STEP 7: ROTATE THE FRONT PART With the CPL filter now in place, you can rotate the front part of the filter to adjust the polarization effect.
- Page 11 R2-4K & R2-4K PRO STEP 8: PLACE A WHITE PIECE OF PAPER Place a small white piece of paper on the dashboard, under the dash cam, and in the middle (away from the windshield) to create a reflection on the windshield to be seen in the camera's viewfinder. LOOK FOR THIS WINDSHIELD REFLECTION DURING ADJUSTMENT ON STEP 9.
- Page 12 USER MANUAL STEP 9: ADJUSTING FOR GLARE REDUCTION - ROTATING THE FRONT PART Focus on the dash cam display and gradually rotate the front side of the CPL filter. Watch for any glare caused by the reflection from the white paper in the viewfinder. Continue rotating the filter until the glare is significantly reduced or disappears.
