Winding Continuity -
A.O. Smith / Century Motor
CAUTION
Disconnect Power Source before checking.
1. Terminal board connected for 230 V.
2. Set ohmmeter to R x 1, adjust to 0.
3. Slip a heavy piece of paper between motor
switch points, discharge the capacitor and
take the following ohm readings:
a. Resistance between L1 and A must be the
same as between A and yellow.
b. Yellow to red (winding side of switch) must
be the same as L1 to same red terminal.

A = Purple wire
