Using the Dolby Pro-Logic Surround
The Dolby Pro-Logic Surround System recreates, in your home, the
powerful and dynamic sound space of a movie theater, when used
with Dolby Pro-Logic encoded source materials.

CENTER LEVEL
REAR LEVEL
Turn on the surround-sound system.
The (b>) mark will be displayed in the surround mode display.
Select the "DOLBY" mode.
Each time the button is pressed, the (b>) mark will change as
follows: DOLBY-HALL—CLUB—STADIUM...
The Dolby Pro-Logic Surround
indicator illuminates simul-
taneously when this mode is selected.

3 Select one of the center modes.
Each time the button is pressed, the center mode indicators
will
change
as
follows:
NORMAL—PHANTOM—CENTER
OFF...
NORMAAL....,.........Select this mode when using the center
speaker and the rear speakers.
PHANTOM ...
..Select this mode when not using the center
speaker (In this case, the center speaker
channel is played through the left and right
speakers).
CENTER OFF.........Select this mode when adjusting the INPUT
BALANCE. (See page 34.)

Press the test signal transmission button.
Test signal sounds sequencially as follows:
Front speaker (left) -- Center speaker

Rear speakers (left, right) — Front speaker (right)
5 Adjust the volume balance.
While standing in the listening area, adjust the output level of
each speaker until they are all identical.
V: Decrease the output level.
A: Increase the output level.
6 Stop the test signal.
