    Operation (Cont’d) Traveling On Public Roads Machine was designed for apply chemicals and fer lizers in off -road use. Do not use the machine for transpor ng product on public roads. Chemical spills result in environmental damage. A loaded machine driven on public roads also runs a high risk of re failure. Personal injury could result. Always walk around and visually inspect the machine before traveling on public roads.
  • Page 7 High Pressure Leaks Fluid leaking from the hydraulic system or the fuel injec on system under high pressure can be very hard to see. The fl uid can go into the skin causing serious injury. Fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours. If not removed immediately, serious infec on or reac on can develop.

  • Page 9 Unbundling Unbundling Field Cultivator 1. Remove packing materials. 2. Use two crane/hoists with slings to secure the frame assemblies and prevent tipping. 3. Remove all packing materials. Cut and remove all banding. 4. Move the wing rests to the side for later installa- tion.
  • Page 10 Unfold and Connect the Main Frame and Wing Sections Preparation Position Rear Supports 1. Position two cranes/hoists in the work area to move heavy parts for assembly. 2. Find hardware in the bundled box labeled C40A. Rotate Sections Down 1. Remove the nuts and brackets attaching the four shipping stands to the rear of the main frame and wings.
  • Page 11 Attach Wheel Assemblies to Hub and Spindle Assemblies Preparation Left Wing 1. Position a crane/hoist in the work area to move heavy parts for assembly. Main Frame 1. Remove the nuts from the bolts on the two hub and spindle assemblies. 1.
  • Page 12 Right Wing 1. Remove the nuts from the bolts on the two hub and spindle assemblies. 2. Loosen the nuts in the axle clamp assembly to allow the right wing axle to rotate. 3. Use a safe lifting device to position the axle leg- subweld as needed to attach each wheel assembly.

Loosen the ten bolts in the hinge plates joining the main wings with the front wings and joining the main frame with the front frame to allow the sec- tions to rotate. 2. Using two cranes/hoists, attach a pair of slings where the front main frame joins with each front wing.
  • Page 14 WING REST ASSEMBLY STEP 9: Retrieve wing rest removed from upright shipping confi gurations in step 2. Remove hardware connecting both wing rests together.
  • Page 15 REAR WING REST ASSEMBLY STEP 10: Use four each of the following parts (1) 3/4“x 2 grade 8 bolts, (2) 3/4” lock washer, and (3) 3/4 “nuts to secure (4) wing rest to main frame. The wing rest must be placed behind truss anchors and center mounts must be in front of anchor straps as shown.

Do the same steps on the LH wing. Note: the bolt heads must be on the inside of the braces as shown.

  • Page 54 Initial Assembly and Charging of Lift Systems All WIL-RICH lift systems should be assembled as noted in the appropriate assembly manual. For best functional results the following steps should be followed. 1) Position the main lift cylinders in the locations and connect the hydraulic circuitry as shown. Attach the base end of all cylinders but do not connect the rod ends.
  • Page 55 3 SECTION CULTIVATOR Wing Fold System Information Wil-Rich products use several varying designs to fold implement wings. All utilize a two-way cylinder of varying diameters and strokes. All wing fold cylinders use an integral or in-line restrictor to control the cylinder stroke speed. This restrictor is critical to the safe operation of the unit and use of non-Wil-Rich cylinders is not recommended.

Continue running the depth control lines (2) along the frame towards the main frame. Attach the two wing lift hydraulic lines to 13238 to tees and route along the depth control lines (2) on the frame.
