Troubleshooting
• Regarding battery pack
Symptom
The player cannot
be
operated
using the
battery pack.
Remedy
elf the battery
pack overheats,
its protective
cir-
cuit may be activated,
making
it no longer possi-
ble to use the battery
pack.

Symptom
No menu play of
Video CD.
No key operation (by
the player and/or the
remote control unit)
is effective.
• Play fails to start
even when PLAY
(D) is pressed.
• Play starts but then
stops immediately.
No operations
can be
performed
with the
remote
control
unit.
Remedy
• This
function
works
only
with Video
CDs
with
playback control.
• Some operations
may be prohibited
by the disc.
eThe
HOLD
switch
on
the
player's
right-side
panel is set to the "HOLD"
position.
Turn off the
HOLD function.
ePress
and hold STOP ([B) to set the player to the
standby
mode
and
then
back
to
ON.
Alternatively,
press
and hold STOP
([B) to set
the player
to the standby
mode,
disconnect
the
AC adaptor,
and then re-connect
it. (The player
may not be operating
properly
due to lightning,
static electricity
or some other external factor.)
• Condensation
has
formed:
wait
about
1 to
2 hours to allow the player to dry out.
eThis
player
cannot
play
disc
other
than
DVD,
Video CD and CD.
eThe disc may be dirty and may require cleaning.
eEnsure
that the disc is installed
with the label
side to be played facing upwards.
• Check
if the button-type
battery
is installed
with
the correct
polarities
((_) and O).
eThe
button-type
battery
is depleted:
replace
it
with a new one.
epoint
the remote
control
unit at the remote con-
trol signal sensor and operate.
eOperate
the remote
control
unit at a distance
of
not more
than
23 feet (7 meters)
from the re-
mote control signal sensor.
• Remove
the obstacles
between
the remote con-
trol unit and remote control signal sensor.
eThe
HOLD
switch
on
the
player's
right-side
panel is set to the "HOLD"
position.
Turn off the
HOLD function.
