Brief instructions for patients
Dear patient,
Your specialist has given you a diagnostic device to find out whether you have sleep apnea.
On these pages we will show you how to put on the device. Correct placement is required for an error-free recording.

How do I put on the polygraph device Scala?
1.
Put device and chest strap over
the undershirt as shown.
Scala should sit firmly but
comfortably. The sensors work
reliably only when Scala is worn
this way.

Put the abdomen strap around
the abdomen as shown.
The pressure sensor is to be
inside the belt.

Insert the black pressure connector
from the abdomen strap into the black
socket on the device and secure it with
a half-turn.

Before you use the finger sensor, trim
your fingernail and remove any nail
polish. Place your finger in the grey
sensor cover. The cable should lie
over the back of your hand. Secure it
to the hook-and-loop wrist strap.
