Things to Know Before Performing an Upgrade

Verify that your upgrade package contains the following:

9261 front panel overlay

9261 I/O card

E8 jumper

Software diskette

T1 Network Interface Cable

9261 Dual T1 Network Access Module (NAM), Installation Instructions

(Document No. 9261-A2-GN10)

Model 916x/926x T1 Network Access Mux, User's Guide (Document

No. 9161-A2-GB20)

Model 916x/926x T1 Network Access Mux, Technical Reference (Document

No. 9161-A3-GH30) on diskettes

You do not need to power down the T1 access unit

All of your configuration option settings will remain intact

Network 2 will be set to the factory default options

Any cross connections that you have assigned to the DSX-1 interface will

now be assigned to the Network 2 interface

If there is a port-to-port assignment, it will be reduced to a maximum of

16 DS0s once you have finished your upgrade

Page 3 4. Place the 9261 Dual T1 NAM overlay over the 9161 Single T1 NAM overlay on the front of the card. 5. Reinstall the T1 NAM. 6. Use the software diskette provided to download the new software to your 926x T1 Access Unit. Refer to Downloading Software, File Transfer, and Performing an Upgrade in Chapter 5, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of the Technical Reference.
