WELDING PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
The machine's welding output is
reduced to 200 amps.
Poor welding, the weld settings
drift, or output power is low.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the test/repairs safely, con-
tact the Lincoln Electric Service Department for electrical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR
POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
WELDING PROBLEMS
1. This may be normal operation.
If the output current exceeds
300 amps, an electronic protec-
tion circuit will reduce the cur-
rent to less than 200 amps. The
machine will continue to pro-
duce this low current until the
protection circuit is reset. Reset
occurs when
removed from the output termi-
nals.
2. Check the input voltage and
input voltage reconnect switch-
es. See
Reconnect Procedure.
3. Check for loose or faulty weld-
ing cables.
1. Make sure the machine's set-
tings are correct for the weld
process being used.
2. Check the machine's perfor-
mance on Local control. If the
performance is OK then the
remote control device may be
faulty. Check or replace.
3. Check the input voltages and
input voltage reconnect switch-
es. See
Reconnect Procedure.
4. Check for loose or faulty weld-
ing cables.
