Electric Heated Conversion Kit
All electrical wiring must be done by a
qualified electrician and comply with all local
codes and regulations.
Use the necessary kits to convert ambi-
ent/temperature conditioning valves to electric
heated valves. See Electric Heat Repair Kits,
page 25.
The u-cup cartridge (107) also needs to be
replaced with the high temperature cartridge.
See the valve parts list for part number. Com-
plete the following steps:
1. If the temperature conditioning ports were
used, then you need to flush the passage-
ways with a compatible solvent.
a. Follow steps 1 through 5 from Repair.
b. Relieve the pressure in the temperature
conditioning system.
c. Disconnect temperature conditioning
inlet and outlet hoses from the valve.
d. Flush a compatible solvent through the
temperature conditioning passageways.
e. Blow air through the temperature condi-
tioning passageways until dry.
f. Install plugs (110) in circulation ports.
NOTE: Do not install plug (110) where the
heater cartridge and temperature sensor are
installed.
2. Replace u-cup cartridge. Follow Disas-
sembly instructions, page 17 and Assem-
bly instructions, page 18.

3. Apply thermal lubrication to heater car-
tridges (122) and RTD sensor (123) without
getting any on the wires.
4. Follow steps 8-12 from Replace RTD Sen-
sor and Heater Cartridges, page 19.
