Setting the Shared RAM Size Switch
Switch 10 on the switch block should be set to the desired Shared
RAM size.

When Switch lOis set to the
On
position, 8 Kb of
Shared RAM are configured into the computer memory
map. Also, only 8 Kb of the adapter memory are used
for message transfer.
The IBM Token-Ring Network PC Adapter function is
supported in this position.
16 Kb
When Switch 10 is set to the Ofr position, 16 Kb of
Shared RAM are configured into the computer memory
map.
All Adapter II functions are supported in this position.
If your system memory is not constrained, set Switch 10 to the
16-Kb position. If only 8 Kb of memory are available, set Switch
10 to the 8-Kb position.
Before setting this switch, you should verify any memory
requirements of the programs you plan to run. Some programs
require 16 Kb to operate correctly.
