Macerator Toilet
3. Flush the potable water antifreeze and water
mixture through the toilet(s) and into the
entire system, including the waste holding
tank, diverter valve connections, discharge
pumps, etc.
4. Turn off the power to the toilet.
6.4.5 Sea water system
The following materials are required:
• One hose that fits the sea water pump, about
3 ft (1m) long
• One container

Problem
The flush function works,
but the water in the bowl
empties slowly or not
at all.
The macerator pump
makes unusually loud
noises or continually trips
the circuit breaker.
The flush cycle is not
activated after pushing the
Flush switch.
Insufficient or no water
enters the bowl.

Possible cause
The discharge piping is pinched or
kinked.
The discharge piping is too high.
All upward vertical loops should
not exceed a total of 4 ft (1.2 m) in
height.
The macerator pump or discharge
piping is blocked.
There is foreign material in the pump
chamber.
The holding tank is full and the signal
from the tank has shut down the
electrical power to toilet.
The electrical power to toilet is shut
off or disrupted.
The Flush switch is malfunctioning.
The electric motor is malfunctioning.
The water supply line is pinched or
kinked.
The screen in water valve is blocked.
The intake water filters are blocked
(in raw water system).
The water valve is malfunctioning.
The water impeller is malfunctioning
(raw water flush toilet).
1. Close the intake and discharge seacocks.
2. Turn off the power to the toilet.
3. Disconnect and drain the intake hose and
in-line filters.
4. Connect the hose to the sea water pump
intake.
5. Place the hose connected to the pump
intake into a bucket with antifreeze in it.
6. Turn on the power to the toilet.
7. Flush until the antifreeze is drained from the
toilet.
8. Disconnect the power to the toilet.
9. Reconnect all intake and drain hoses.
Recommended solution
Check the discharge piping.
Reroute the discharge piping.
Close the seacocks and clear any
blockage.
Close the seacocks and clear any foreign
material.
Empty the holding tank.
Check the wiring and circuit breakers (or
fuses).
Replace the Flush switch.
Replace the electric motor.
Check the water supply line.
Clear the blockage at the water valve.
Clear the water filters.
Replace the water valve.
Replace the raw water impeller.
