Set t ing up your device
WARNING
Do not use any addi tives in the hum idifier tub (eg, scented oils or perfum es). These m ay reduce
hum idification output and/or cause deterioration of the tub m aterials.
CAUTION
Use only ResM ed parts (eg, air inlet filter, pow er supplies), m asks and accessories with the m achine.
Non ResM ed parts may reduce the effectiveness of the treatm ent, m ay result in excess carbon
dioxide rebreathing and/or dam age the m achine. For com patibility inform ation, refer to
ResM ed.com for m ore inform ation.
When using the hum idifier tub:
Alw ays place the device on a level surface, low er than your h ead, to prevent the m ask and air
tubing from filling w ith w ater
Do not overfill the hum idifier tub as w ater m ay enter the device and air tubing
Do not fill the hum idifier tub w ith hot w ater as this could lead to excessive air tem perature at the
m ask. Ensure the w ater is cooled to room tem perature before filling the humidifier tub
Do not place the device on its side w hile the hum idifier is attached as w ater m ight get into the
device and reduce motor life.
When setting up the AirSense 11 system :
Do not place the pow er supply w here it can be bum ped, stepped on, or w here som eone is likely
to trip over th e pow er cord
Do not block the air tubing and/or air inlet of the device w hile in operation as this could lead to
overheating of the device
Keep the area around the device dry, clean and clear of anything (eg, clothes or bedding) that
could block the air inlet or cover the pow er supply unit
