MIDI Component
Use a M[Di cable to ci'nnect this unit to the sequencer
(etc.).
In this case, be sure to connected sequencer (etc.) that is
capable of outputtinq MTC (MIDI Time Code) signals
to and external de\'ice.

Master unit
Setup

Sot the master unit to output ,\1TC signals.
Refer to the operating instructions supplied t\ ith
your sequencer (etc.) for details.
Connections
Lse a MIDI cable ti' connect this unit to a MIDI
compatible sequencer (etc.).

Set the "Sync" system setting on this unit to EXT.
See "Changing a Setting" (page l.b of the main
"Operating Instructions") and "S\ nc mevie setting
(Sync)" (page 3 of this booklet) for details.
Setup
Set this unit's "MMC" s\ stem setting to "on".
See "Changing a Setting" (page KS of the main
"C'tperating Instructions") for details.

Start playing the master unit.
This unit starts playing in svnc with the master
unit (sequencer, etc.). The signal is muted and
"Chase" appears in the dispiac w indi'w until
ss nehronization stabilizes.
This unit accepts the tollowing MMC command/
responses:
• Stop (Command 01) : Stops the disc. Reception of
this command during recording (or rehearsal) will
cause recording (rehearsal) to stop.
• Play (Command 02,03) ; Starts playback. Reception
of this command during recording (or rehearsal) w
ill
not cause recording (rehearsal) to stop.
• Fast Forward (FF) (Command 04) ; Fast forward.
Reception ot this command during recording (or
rehearsal) w ill cause recording (rehearsal) to stop.
• Rewind (REVV) (Command 05) : Rewind. Reception
of this command during recording (or rehearsal) w ill
cause recording (rehearsal) to stop.
• Record Strobe (Command 06) : During playback, it
starts recording on the recordable track (the track
selected with the RFC SELECT kev). During stop
mode, it starts recording (or rehearsal) on the
recordable track. Reception of this command during
mt>des not listed aboee (pause mode, etc.) has no
effect on the unit.
