in dry air. Prior to this operation, disconnect the
flange-mounted motor from the power source and
wear protective goggles and a dust mask.
9. Troubleshooting
- Overload protection: There is a MAJOR
reduction in load speed. The motor temperature
is too high! Allow the machine to run at idle speed
until it has cooled down.
- Overload protection: There is a SLIGHT
reduction in load speed. The machine is
overloaded. Reduce the load before continuing to
work.
- Metabo S-automatic safety shutdown: The
machine was SWITCHED OFF automatically. If
the slew rate of the current is too high (for
example, if the machine suddenly seizes or
kickback occurs), the machine switches off.
Switch off the machine using the slide switch (4).
Switch it on again and continue to work as normal.
Try to prevent the machine from seizing.
10. Repairs
Repairs to flange-mounted motors must only
be carried out by qualified electricians!
Contact your local Metabo representative if you
have Metabo flange-mounted motors requiring
repairs. See www.metabo.com for addresses.
Spare parts lists are available from Metabo.
11. Environmental Protection
Observe national regulations on environmentally
compatible disposal and on the recycling of disused
tools, packaging and accessories.
Only for EU countries: never dispose of
flange-mounted motors in your household
waste! Used flange-mounted motors must be
collected separately and handed in for environmen-
tally compatible recycling in accordance with Euro-
pean Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and
electronic equipment and its implementation in
national legal systems.

standards).
Emission values
These values make it possible to assess the
emissions from the flange-mounted motor and to
compare different flange-mounted motors. The
actual load may be higher or lower depending on
the operating conditions, the condition of the flange-
mounted motor or the accessories. Please allow for
breaks and periods when the load is lower for
assessment purposes. Arrange protective
measures for the user, such as organisational
measures based on the adjusted estimates.

The noise level can exceed 80 dB(A) during
operation.
Wear ear protectors!
Electromagnetic disturbances:
In individual cases, the speed may fluctuate
temporarily if the machine is exposed to extreme
external electromagnetic disturbances or the
electronic restart protection may respond. In this
case, switch the machine off and on again.
