Many of the electrical

mechanical parts

the color
display monitor have special safety related characteristics.
These characteristics are of ten not evident from visual
inspection nor can the protection afforded by them necessarily
be obtained
by
using replacement components rated for higher
voltage, wattage, etc.
Replacement parts which have these special safety characteris-
tics are identified in this service manual.
Electrical components having such features are identified by
shading on the schematic diagram and the parts list of this
service manual and
by
marking on the supplementary sheet for
this chassis to be issued subsequently, therefore replacement

any safety parts should be identical invalue and character-

ALIGNMENT
PROCEDURE
Monitor alignment procedures contained in this section should
be
follo~ed
whenever a major component is replaced: such as a
CR~,
deflection yoke, er circuit board.
Some alignment may oc µeriodically required to correct
for component a9ins::.
Degaussing should be performed periodi-
cally whenever it is suspected that degaussing is required.
These alignment procedures should be performed in the order
given herein.
Due to interaction, some portions of the
alignment procedures may require repeating.
For auick reference, all maintenance adjustments are listed in
Table 4-1,

with the location, circuit designator and
related paragraph for each control.
Figure 4-1 through 4-9
shows the location of all adjustments.
