    Diamond Systems recommends that all our boards be stored only in individual ESD-safe packaging units. If multiple boards are stored together, they should be contained in bins with dividers placed between the boards.

    2. INTRODUCTION The EPS-24G4X is a Carrier Board for the EPSM-10GX4 Ethernet switch module based on VSC7448. It provides access to all features of the module and can be used both for validation of the module’s features and as a product.

    3x QSGMII ports. VSC8512 PHY Additional 12x 1G copper ports are derived by VSC8512 PHY on EPS-24G4X carrier via 3x QSGMII interface from the module. The VSC8512 is a low-power 12-port Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver with low Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) line driver and integrated line side termination resistors that conserve both power and space.

    The EPS-24G4X Carrier Board is equipped with a 3-pin Latching Connector Serial Interface on J11. Power Supply The EPS-24G4X is powered through an 8-pin Latching Power Input Connector J14 that uses a +7VDC to +34VDC wide-range power supply unit. Overvoltage protection is provided using onboard TVS diode.

    Connector Pin-out and Signal Description High-speed B2B Connectors: J1 and J2 The EPS-24G4X Carrier Board contains 2x 120 pin 0.5mm pitch high-speed connectors that accommodate 12x 1 Gbps copper ports, 3x QSGMII ports, 2x 10G ports, power, and other sideband signals. These connectors mate with the EPSM-10GX4 main module.
