Thank you for purchasing a WiebeTech v4 Combo Adapter. Find your adapter on the list below and follow the
instructions to quickly connect and access a hard drive.
Name: v4 Adapter for SATA drives
Part Number: ADAv4-SATA
Usage: Any 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA (Serial-ATA) drive
Instructions:
1. Attach the dock's 4-wire power connector to the Adapter then connect the dock's IDE ribbon cable to the
Adapter's 40-pin IDE interface.
2. Connect the drive to the adapter.
3. Plug the AC adapter into the dock.
4. Connect the FireWire or USB2 cable to the computer, and then to the dock.
5. Turn on the dock's power switch. The drive connected to the adapter will spin up and you will be able to
access it on your computer.
Name: v4 Adapter for 2.5-inch PATA drives
Part Number: ADAv4-25
Usage: Any 2.5-inch PATA (Parallel-ATA) drive, the size commonly found in laptop
computers. PATA drives are also sometimes referred to as IDE, ATA, or ATAPI, and
are identified by their 44-pin interface.
Instructions:
1. Attach the dock's 4-wire power connector to the Adapter then connect the dock's IDE
ribbon cable to the Adapter's 40-pin IDE interface.
2. Lay the drive onto the adapter's green board between the metal guide posts. Slide the drive forward until
the drive's interface pins plug into the adapter.
3. (Optional) If you will be moving the adapter while the drive is connected, you may use the included screws
to fasten the drive to the board.
4. Plug the AC adapter into the dock.
5. Connect the FireWire or USB2 cable to the computer, and then to the dock.
6. Turn on the dock's power switch. The drive connected to the adapter will spin up and you will be able to
access it on your computer.
Name: v4 Adapter for 1.8-inch Toshiba Drives
Part Number: ADAv4-18-TOSH

Usage: 1.8" Toshiba drive, commonly found in iPods (1
to 4
generation).
Instructions:
1. Attach the dock's 4-wire power connector to the Adapter then connect the dock's
IDE ribbon cable to the Adapter's 40-pin IDE interface.
2. Connect the drive to the Adapter, label-side down.
3. Plug the AC adapter into the dock.
4. Connect the FireWire or USB2 cable to the computer, and then to the dock.
5. Turn on the dock's power switch. The drive in the Adapter will spin up and you will be able to access it.
