INTRODUCTION
The Sony SEG-2550/2550P special effects generator can
apply a wide variety of special effects, such as mixing, wiping,
keying and downsiream keying, to the video program from a
camera, VTR, etc., and output the resulting program.
In addition to the basic functions, the SEG-2550/2550P can
memorize the setting and operation of effects and reproduce
them. This is called the "E-File" function. The SEG-2550/2550P
can be remotely controlled by a microcomputer or a VTR
editing contro! unit through the RS-232C interface.
The built-in sync generator allows all equipment connected to
the SEG-2550/2550P to be synchronized with the
SEG-2550/2550P. The SEG-2550/2550P can synchronize with
an external sync signal when itis supplied.
' Instantaneous change from one picture to another during
vertical blanking period is possible.
Mixing
Gradual transition by dissolving one picture into another is
possible.
Wipe
Wipe function, a transition from one picture to another using
& geometrical pattem moving across the screen, is provided.
Wipe pattern can be selected from 137 pattems, and a variet
of wipe effects such as pairing, echo, border and softness,
are available.
