5.3.2.2 Connecting battery string for communication with battery control unit
The battery is designed to work on a close loop environment for communicating with the
inverter / PCS (check inverter compatibility list), for open loop type of applications we do
To ensure proper functionality of the batteries, the batteries must communicate to the
battery control unit through the supported protocols using a communication cable.
In a battery string only one of the batteries will acquire the role of Primary or Master, this
Primary battery will connect to the battery control unit with the communication cable, this
allows the battery control unit to communicate with all the batteries in the cluster. The
primary battery will use the "M/S" Port for that purpose, while the battery control unit will
use the "Cluster Communication" Ports.
