The hob is programmed with 9 power levels at the factory. If you wish to fine-tune
a setting, you can extend the power level range to 17 power levels (see "Adjusting
settings").
Melting butter
Melting chocolate
Dissolving gelatine
Warming up small quantities of liquid
Keeping warm food which sticks easily
Cooking rice or porridge
Defrosting vegetables frozen in a block
Warming up liquid and semi-solid food
Steaming fruit
Simmering potatoes (cookware with lids)
Making omelettes or lightly fried eggs
Gently frying meat patties
Steaming fish and vegetables
Cooking dumplings and dried pulses
Defrosting and reheating frozen food
Thickening sauces, e.g. Hollandaise
Pancakes
Gently frying (without overheating the fat) fish, escalopes, saus-
age, fried eggs, etc.
Cooking hash browns, pancakes, etc.
Frying, e.g. chips
Boiling large quantities of water
Bringing to the boil
Searing large quantities of meat
These settings should only be taken as a guide. The power of the induction coils will vary
depending on the size and material of the cookware. For this reason, the power levels may
need to be adjusted slightly to suit your cookware. As you use the hob, you will get to know
which settings suit your cookware best. When using new cookware that you are not familiar
with, set the power to one level below the one specified.
