gram button «1 ... 10» until Pr on the
display has stopped blinking.
c) French Special Channels
Selection of the French special chan-
nels B-Q is done as shown in table
page 20. Find the channel number of
the special channel from the table
(01-16). Select TV standard first. (But-
ton «C» and «2» for SECAM
L.) Then
press button «C» again and key in the
channel number from the table. To
store press the desired program but-
ton «4... 10» until Pr on the display
has stopped blinking.
Fine tuning
Although your set is always optimally
tuned by the station selection a signal
may change slightly via the antenna
installation.
1. Press preselection button for fine
tuning « +
». Display: F— and the
channel number of the station
* selected.
2. Using buttons (4) «+» or «—» (con-
tours sharper or softer) correct the
picture.
You can store the fine tuning with the
station. After the station has been
found use the fine tuning and then
store the station.
If you want to adjust a station you've
already stored using fine tuning first
. adjust with fine tuning and then press
button «S» until -- ~-appears on the
display. Please note that all sound and
picture values will also be stored (see
paragraph "Adjusting basic setting").
If a station does not lie within the nor-
mal channel grid select the channel
number nearest and adjust it with fine
tuning.

Stand-by
For daily viewing put the set on stand-
by using the mains switch (34) and
switch on using one of the program
buttons «1... 10». (You can also
switch on using button «C» or «AV»).
If you want to switch off for a while
press button ¢b .
Program selection
The stored programs can be recalled
by pressing the buttons «1 ... 10».
When program 10 is indicated, the
zero (0) will blink for appr. 4 seconds.
Within this time it is possible to select
the programs 11-39.

About 4 seconds after you've selected
a program you can see on the display
which channel the program is being
transmitted on. By selecting the pro-
gram again you can find out at any
time what the channel number is.
To quickly get an overview of every-
thing currently programmed you can
start program search using button
(4) «+» running forward or «—» run-
ning backwards. Every time you touch
this button you move on one program.
If nothing is being transmitted on a
program place at the time or if no sta-
tion is stored the program search will
move on to the next program.
Tip: Program search can only be start-
ed if Pr (program) is on the display.
If not then you have to wait.
Picture and sound adjustment
You can adjust colour @ , brightness
%t and volume ——- to suit your own
taste using buttons «+» and «—». To
adjust contrast @, bass » , and
treble ¢ please press the preselec-
tion button first (3) under the slide
flap. You can set the values you want
using buttons (4) «+» and «—».
On the display you can see the func-
tion symbol and the value you set
from 0 to 99. Pict. 7 colour, pict. 8
brightness, pict. 9 volume, pict. 10
contrast, pict. 11 bass, pict. 12 treble.
In case you have mixed everything up
you can press button +l and all set-
tings will be adjusted to a middle
value (basic setting). -- -—- will appear
on the display. If you would like to get
your own values after pressing the
button I+ , please read the section
under the headline "Adjusting the
basic setting". Tint is adjusted as fol-
lows for NTSC reception (American
stations): First again switch off the
sound using button mJ . Then adjust
the tint using buttons «+» for «—» for
colour @ (Display: pict. 13). After-
wards switch on the sound again by
pressing button md again.
You can even adjust the tint in certain
cases. (e.g. if a film has a tinge). To
do so first switch off the sound using
button «] . Following press the pre-
selection button (3) for balance wa.
Then adjust the tint using buttons (4)
«+» and «—», It's best to use sKin tone
as a guide. Display: pict. 17 tnt in
mid-position. Afterwards press xd
again to switch the sound onagain.
Sound on/off
If you want to switch off the sound for
a short time (if the telephoner ings, TV
sound is interfering with conve rsation
etc.) press button sq .0 appears on
the display. You can turn the s ound
back on again by pressing button x
again or by pressing button +—.
